Welcome

Hello and Welcome to the new Christie Adams Photography blog! Here I will share recent work, some pictures of my own family, and talk about studio news. I am the mother of an adventurous, curious and strong-willed 2 1/2 year old daughter named Sabrina and a precious newborn named Thérèse (pronounced Te-rez).

I started my photography business in the summer of 2007 but my love of photography started years ago. As a child I always brought my film to be developed the day I got home from vacation. Quite simply, pictures make me happy. I would love a bigger house, not for a state of the art kitchen, but for the wall space to hang photos.

My style is photojournalistic, natural and fun. I love capturing people doing the things that make them happy- whether it's a couple having a picnic, a child reading a book, or a family playing hide and seek. I want to freeze that moment, because I know this precious time is fleeting. Babies become children who become adults way too fast. I have done my job if one of my photos captures and preserves a moment of truth in your life.

Catching up

The past week I think has been the busiest I can remember in a long time.  Actually this whole month has been a whirlwind of 20 photo sessions and now I am swimming in boxes in my house as the orders are coming in.  This week little T turned 3 months and we did a little shoot with her and SAbrina but I haven’t had a spare moment to edit those yet so it will have to wait until hopefully this weekend.

In the meantime here are some of the things I am putting together for clients:

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE my session albums??

And this is a new product I am offering- these little Mini Mounts are sooooo gorgeous on metallic paper and they fit nicely in a cute easel.  These can come in either 5×5 or 5×7 in size.  They look beautiful on a ledge or shelf or even on your desk in your office. Not to mention they make the perfect gift for grandparents!

I just had to get a couple for myself :)

For now the black easels will have to do but I am on a mission to find white easels to go better with my shabby chic decor.  If anyone has a suggestion let me know before I hit some craft stores this weekend.

And here are a couple pics from my sessions last weekend!

This one was shot in the pouring rain as I held a camera with one hand and an umbrella with the other.

And this little girl I could have taken her picture all day:

My girls

It’s not perfect but here they are:

A few more of Thérèse….how in the world did we make a red headed baby???

Cousins in the park. Another Fall photo session

I met these two adorable girls on Sunday afternoon.  I am not used to 6 and 8 year old girls so it was a nice change of pace.  Aren’t they so sweet together?

Fall Photo Session at the park

On Sunday I met a new family for their first photo session with me.  I’ve never seen a more affectionate and loving toddler before- he was just so sweet.  I have so many images to go through but didn’t want to make mom wait any longer for her sneak preview so I pulled 2 to share :)

Babies

Yesterday I had two mini sessions with adorable babies who made me smile on a rainy day.  First is this little cutie who has the most amazing lashes I think I’ve ever seen - they actually touch her eyebrow they are so long!!!

and then I went to see Michael whose family I have become close to after having done 4 sessions with in the past year!  He is absolutely adorable and has a contagious smile.  I’m going back next weekend to do some shots of him by the lake so hopefully we will be blessed with better weather then we got yesterday.

More Minis!

It has been a crazy week around here!  From last weekend to the end of this weekend I will have done 14 sessions!!  So I will keep this short :)

Yesterday I had a mini session in the morning:

and then met a family for a full session in the afternoon.  I met this family last fall and it was a pleasure to see them again at this beautiful location! Next fall we have to go a week or 2 earlier to catch peak fall foliage!

Twins!

Yesterday I met these adorable twin boys for our first photo session together:

Day two of Holiday Mini Sessions

Yesterday I met with three families for my second day of mini sessions.  I am still working on them but I promised everyone I’d have a preview up so here it goes :)

First you may remember this little cutie- she was the winner of my blog contest this summer.  Now she is turning one this month and is still an adorable little girl.  Happy Birthday Emerson :)

I LOVE this one:

Next has to be one of the sweetest little babies I’ve ever met.  Just bright-eyed, peaceful and content.  What a beauty!!  It was such a pleasure to meet this family.

Finally, you also may recognize Olivia who was also in my blog contest this summer.  This time I got to photograph her and her two older brothers.  I love seeing kids get bigger and it was wonderful getting to have a session with this lovely family again!!

Mini Sessions!

This weekend I had SEVEN mini sessions- I booked them back in June and July when I was still pregnant and had no idea what life with 2 kids would be like.  So I am a bit overwhelmed with work right now but wanted to blog about the first four sessions which were held yesterday.  We had gorgeous weather and everything surprisingly ran very smoothly.  I got to meet 2 new families as well as 2 repeat families.

This is a large share because two of the four families have three children and I wanted to make sure I shared a picture of each child (there were 9 in total).  Stay tuned tomorrow for some pictures from today’s three mini sessions!

Happy Morning

Thérèse wakes up so happy every morning with the biggest smiles.  I couldn’t resist doing an improntu shoot with her.  I only meant to take a couple but somehow when I put my card in my computer there was 147.  oops. it’s just so hard to resist this face.  I had 4 sessions today so I better get working!!
